Doha: The meeting of media committee of Arab Police Sports Federation held recently at the headquarters of General Secretariat of the Federation in Cairo. The two days meeting was presided by Head of the Media Committee and President of the Arab & Qatar Police Sports Federations Brigadier. Khalid bin Hamad Al Attiyah, and was attended by all the committee members.
The meeting was opened with a welcome address by the Secretary-General of the Federation Major General/ Mohamed Sabih Foda, followed by words from the President of the Federation and discussion and review on the recommendations of the meeting minutes of the Media Committee held in Cairo in on 8th June 2009. Members also discussed pros and cons of the championships held by the Arab Police Sports Federation during the year 2010 which were: Arab Police Swimming Championship hosted by the Republic of Sudan during the period of 10-13 January 2010, International Police Shooting Championship held in Kuwait during the period of 15-22/??/2010 and Arab Police Boxing Championship held in Syrian Arab Republic during the period of 3-9 May 2010.
They also discussed the merits and demerits of the second session of Qualifying Arab Police Sports Cadres' held in Cairo during the period of 9-21 April 2010 and was attended by 21 students from different Arab countries.
The meeting reviewed the proposals of some members of the Committee, which aimed to elevate the work of the Sport Media in the Federation, effectuate the roles and enhance cooperation and communication between the Arab Federation and the Police Federations in Arab world.
The meeting also thanked HE Engineer. Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Sudan for hosting Arab Police Swimming Championship in Sudan, HE Staff Lieutenant General Jaber Al Khaled Al Sabah, Minister of Interior of Kuwait for hosting International Police Shooting Championship in Kuwait, HE Maj. Gen. Saeed Mohammed Samur, Minister of Interior of Syrian Arab Republic for hosting Arab Police Boxing Championship in Damascus, and HE Mr. Habib Al Adli, Minister of Interior of Arab Republic of Egypt for his support to the headquarter of the Arab Federation and for his approval on printing and publication of the magazine for the year 2010 at the expense of Egypt's Ministry of Interior.
It is worth mentioning that the recommendations of the meeting will be presented to the Executive Office of the Arab Police Sports Federation in its next meeting to be held during the period of 28-29 June 2010.
